The Designer

Batangas-born Lauren Arielle Berberabe graduated with a bachelor's degree in International Studies Major in European Studies at the De La Salle University-Manila in 2006. Upon graduation, she was featured as an exemplary student at the Animo Magazine. Then she enhanced her French communication skills at Alliance Française de Manille, while attending Fashion Illustration workshops at Lasalle College International with Danilo Franco. That same year, she received her personality development certificate from John Robert Powers. Although she wanted to pursue with Fashion Design, her dream course and field, her parents encouraged her to take up the Teacher Certificate Program at the DLSU Graduate School for career options. In 2007, she then received an opportunity to take the United Nations ASAT Exam in New York, and she eventually passed. But her heart wanted to go back to the country and explore the world of fashion. She enrolled at the School of Fashion and the Arts, and she finished the Certificate Program in Fashion Design last October 2008. Young, aggressive and vibrant, she is now one of the young designers of the country.

Lauren’s designs are fun and feminine. Her colorful palette gives an appeal that matches her young and bubbly personality. She loves to accentuate and dramatize her pieces— suggesting different stories to tell. Although she also uses subdued and neutral tones, she draws attention to embellishments and texture.

She makes made-to-order pieces for her clientele, both in the metro and in her hometown. She also engages in RTW dresses, but makes sure that her designs are produced in a very small quantity to remain exclusivity of the brand. These were first introduced at the SOFA Retail Lab at #55 Paseo de Roxas, Makati City. She now manages her own shop, Lauren Arielle Fashion & Couture, at L&G Bldg., Hilltop, Batangas City, and her on-line RTW wear, The LAB.

As a party coordinator - I always look forward to the celebrant's gown - especially if it was made by Lauren :) Young, with so many fresh/new ideas and creative - She's very pleasant, very down to earth - kahit napakadaming achievements, kahit coming from a well-off family. She's also very hands-on with designs, materials (she even goes to DIVI like memorize nya ang divisoria hehe) and clients. She might be busy at times but she'll make sure to keep in touch. wink
